Liberty Introduction

Liberty Hong Kong’s predecessor, OTB Assurance first set foot in Hong Kong in 1973 and eventually become Liberty International Insurance Ltd in November 1999. In 2002 this became Liberty Mutual.

The company offers a medical insurance plan for corporations known as ‘EasyCare’ and is available for Hong Kong registered companies with two or more employees. There are a number of limitations to the plan however and is targeting the local insurance market more than the international it would seem. For example policy renewal is subject to experience rating, there are limits on all types of benefit and major medical cover is an optional extra.

International companies operating in Hong Kong may wish to seek more extensive medical cover as the limitations that come with this plan are quite severe.
