IntegraGlobal (Integra) is a UK company, based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, that is commited to providing expat healthcare, internationally.

Since its found in 1999, Integra has had a special focus in addition to expat medical, to provide specially designed health care plans for individual seafarers and shipping fleets.

Since 2018 Integra has been successfully partnered with:

  • MGEN; part of the largest mutual health group in France VYV Group, which has a turnover of €9 billion, 35,500 employees and an AM BEST Financial Strength Rating of A (excellent).
  • Medical Administrators International (MAI) is the global claims administrator for InCare health plans and will manage all pre-authorisations, direct billing and claims management services.
  • Northcott Global Solutions (NGS) Integra’s emergency medical and security assistance provider

Generali Global Health (GGH) will no longer underwrote or serviced Integra plans with effect from 1st January 2020, and int its place Integar arranged a new plan underwritten by MGEN.

There are major changes to this plan.

  • Claims will be managed by Medical Administrators International (MAI) who has local claims handling in HK.
  • Inclusion of Life Cover @ $5,000 on yourLife and yourFamily plans, and $10,000 for Premier Life and Premier Family plans.
  • Out-Patient cover limited to $7,500 on yourLife and yourFamily plans, and $10,000 for PremierLife and PremierFamily plans.
  • No Maternity benefits are being covered on any of Integra's Hong Kong plans. However, they will grandfather expiring Maternity benefits for any “family plan" members who are pregnant at the date of renewal in 2020.
  • Premium Adjustments:
    • Your Family & Premier Family : +12%
    • Your Life & Premier Life : +17%

Integra maintains it consistently achieves claims processing times within 5-7 working days and to place Guarantees of Payment within 2-48 hours.

Continuous Protection until the Age of 100
“HealthCare 100” Critical Illness Protector is available to those aged between 15 days and 65 years, and provides protection against Critical Illnesses up to the age of 100 of the insured.

Comprehensive Protection for Contingencies
In addition to covering the most common Critical Illnesses such as cancer, heart attack and stroke, this plan offers comprehensive protection against other conditions such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus with Lupus Nephritis and Kawasaki disease. The insured will receive up to 100% of the sum insured plus Terminal Dividend (less the total Living Benefits already paid (if applicable)) if diagnosed with a Critical Illness covered by the plan.

Varying Compensations According to Differing Severity Levels Grant Peace of Mind
The illnesses covered by the plan are classified into Severity Level 1, 2 or 3 (with Severity Level 3 representing the most severe group). The insured will receive Living Benefit amounts to 20%, 50% and 100% of the sum insured respectively, to settle corresponding medical expenses upon diagnosed with any of the Critical Illnesses covered by the plan. Less severe critical illnesses can become severe if proper treatment is not given, therefore some less severe critical illnesses or operations – such as Carcinoma in Situ, Less Severe Heart Attack, Minimally-Invasive Direct Coronary Artery by-pass and Early Stage Dementia – are covered by this plan. This protects the insured against a variety of conditions and allows him or her to receive treatment without having to worry about any financial burden. Death Benefit
In the unfortunate event of the Insured, 100% of the sum insured of the plan plus Terminal Dividend (less the total amount of Living Benefit already paid) will be offered to the designated beneficiary.

Wealth Accumulation and Protection Rolled into One
In addition to coverage for Critical Illnesses and life protection, this plan will help to build up your wealth. Its Guaranteed Cash Value together with the Terminal Dividend (less total amount of Living Benefit previously paid) will be paid when you surrender the policy or when the policy matures. Apart from enjoying protection up to the age of 100, you will also enjoy enhanced financial security while in good health.

Extra Compassionate Death Benefit
If Living Benefit has been paid for a Critical Illness of Severity Level 3 (except Terminal Illness and Total and Permanent Disability) and “Multi-Care Premier Protector” remains inforce, the premium of “HealthCare 100” Critical Illness Protector will be waived thereafter, and a Compassionate Death Benefit of US$1,000 will be paid in the unfortunate event that the insured passes away. The Compassionate Death Benefit is only applicable to the insured with additional protection under the rider “Multi-Care Premier Protector”.

Free Value-added Services Amount to 360-degree care
Family Protection
Patients always need continuous extensive care after discharge, “HealthCare 100” Critical Illness Protector specially offers you the Family Protection for free. This provides additional support such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy referral, free post-treatment transportation, diet consultation referral, as well as temporary tutorials for dependent children. Global Advance Care
When sickness occurs, patients always want to seek various professional medical opinions to find out the most suitable treatment. That’s why “Global Advance Care” – which covers over 200 specified illnesses – has been built into the “HealthCare 100” Critical Illness Protector. When a specified illness is suspected, the insured can seek a medical second opinion from a world-leading medical centre for free, without having to wait for a Critical Illness claim to be approved. Long-term convalescence in home country

When a crew member undergoes a long period of convalescence, we provide them with home country cover for up to 12 months. Allowing your crew to get back to full health.

Companion travel cover

If a member of crew is admitted to hospital outside of their home country for five days or more. We will pay for another member of crew, a friend or family member to accompany them to and from the vessel and their overnight accommodation.

Underwriting Rules

  • For Groups with five or less employees - full medical underwriting (FMU). Where Integra are different from many insurers is that they do not exclude any pre-existing conditions but offer cover at a loaded premium. In really extreme cases, though, they may decline cover altogether
  • Groups with six or more employees - medical history disregarded (MHD)
  • If some one is moving from Group MHD to Individual then then Integra will need a full application and we will assess pre-existing conditions based on when they occurred (e.g. before joining their plan or after).
  • If moving from Group FMU to Individual plan, then if over 12 months continuous cover on the group plan, Integra will grant cover but load for any preexisting conditions.

  • Participation in a professional sports or any hazardous sport or activity
  • Dental implants of any type
  • Plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, cosmetic surgery or other services and supplies which improve, alter or enhance appearance

There is a 24 month waiting period for organ transplants.
